Most of us go through life trying to fix, resist, or control things—our thoughts, our emotions, other people, and even reality itself. But what if peace doesn’t come from fixing anything… but simply from allowing?
There was a morning when I let go of all the yesterdays, and from that moment on, my steps became light.
This is a gentle guide back to your center—by embracing a deep, compassionate acceptance of what is. It is a meditation in words, rooted in mindfulness and inspired by Buddhist wisdom.
I allow everything to happen.
I allow things to begin as they do, unfold as they will, and end as they must.
Because I know: everything arises from causes and conditions. Everything that happens is inevitable.
If I insist that things should be different, the only one I hurt is myself.
The only thing I can do, is to allow.
I allow others to be exactly as they are.
I allow them their thoughts, their judgments, and their ways of treating me.
Because I understand: they are simply being themselves.
In their own world, they are right.
If I wish they were someone else, I only bring pain to myself.
The only thing I can do, is to allow.
I allow myself to have these thoughts.
I allow every thought to arise, to linger, and to disappear.
Because I know: thoughts have no inherent meaning. They are not me.
They come as they will, and they leave as they must.
If I resist my thoughts, I only create more suffering.
The only thing I can do, is to allow.
I allow these emotions to rise.
I allow every feeling to form, to move through me, and to dissolve.
Because I understand: emotions are just bodily sensations, neither good nor bad.
The more I resist them, the stronger they become.
If I believe I shouldn’t feel this way, I hurt myself again.
The only thing I can do, is to allow.
I allow myself to be this way.
I allow myself to express in whatever way I express.
I let my being be.
Because I know: what appears outside is only a residue of the ego.
The true me is whole and wise.
If I wish to be someone else, I once again harm myself.
The only thing I can do, is to allow.
I know I came to this life to experience the present moment.
And in each moment, my only task is to fully allow, fully experience, and fully enjoy.
To see—just to see.
To allow everything to be exactly as it is.
“All phenomena arise due to causes and conditions. The wise one sees and accepts this truth.”
— The Buddha, from the Majjhima Nikāya
